Canoeing on Lake Louise

My old roommate from college, Taylen, lives in Regina, Saskatchewan, which is the Canadian province just above North and South Dakotas of the United States. Taylen describes Regina as a temperate paradise, and he often takes canoe trips on the local rivers and lakes. Canada has far more lakes than any other country, and most of the lakes in the southern half of Canada are gorgeous in the summertime. It’s no wonder how many resorts flourish in these areas. I visited him twice: once by taking a VIA rail train tour a couple summers ago and another time just last summer. There’s nothing quite so pleasant and relaxing as a Rocky mountaineer vacation. I could sit and watch the scenery go by for hours. The breathtaking vistas and gorgeous gorges . . . it’s strange that sometimes you need to travel to feel still and sometimes you need to escape to find yourself. After the train tour I stayed with Taylen and his wife for a few days. He took me on a day trip to Lake Louise in Alberta, to his favorite fishing spot. My holiday in Lake Louise Canada was certainly a memorable one. I don’t think I’ve ever come back home from a vacation feeling so refreshed and ready to tackle life.
