The 3 Bar Argument
By OBP in Society | 0 comments
You wouldn’t think that something as innocuous as a nutrition bar could be the source of an argument between good friends, would you? Apparently you don’t know my friend Katie. I love her to death but Katie is the kind of girl that is stubborn to a fault.
As you might have guessed, Katie and I got into a discussion about energy bars one day while we were at the rock climbing gym. She swears by some brand of energy bar that has to be imported from who knows where, a brand that I had obviously never heard of. I made the mistake of trying to tell her that she should taste my 3 bar. And before I knew what was happening, Katie wasn’t talking to me.
At first, I figured that the situation would blow over when Katie realized that she was being silly about the whole thing. When that didn’t happen, I appealed to her logical side by offering up an email with all of the points I could make about why I liked the 3 bar. She didn’t reply to the email and instead sent me a package with the no-name bar inside.
The truth is that I never got around to tasting the energy bar but Katie doesn’t know that. I just went ahead and sent an email to her that said I loved it and she was right. There are just some people in our lives that we have to concede a silly point to in order to please them. I didn’t think it was something worth fighting about with Katie. But it just goes to show you that some people will argue about anything!
