Hot Tub Rash Isn’t Fun

Hot tub rash isn’t fun but it’s not really a big deal either. I found this out the hard way after getting this condition during a business trip. I had never heard of hot tub rash until I got it and it was diagnosed by a doctor. However, it turns out that it’s pretty common and it’s fairly easy to treat.
Basically, hot tub rash is caused when a germ gets into the water of a hot tub spa and contaminates it. Contrary to some myths, it has nothing to do with using a cheap hot tub. I was using a fairly nice hot tub at the hotel pool area of my hotel. It’s used by a lot of people and that made it more prone to the germ. You can’t see the germ so you don’t know that it’s in the hot tub.
I didn’t know what this rash was so I kind of freaked out and went to the doctor right away. He told me that it probably would’ve cleared up on its own without my doing anything but he gave me a cream to reduce the symptoms. It’s really no big deal so I wouldn’t freak out if it happened again. It certainly isn’t going to stop me from using hot tubs!

My wife ended up getting a hot tub rash when we took a vacation to california. Since that vacation she has not gone in one hot tub and I do not think she plans on going in one the rest of her life. She even gets mad at me for going in hot tubs because she is afraid I will get a rash. Best bet would be to have your own so you can take care of it properly.

I had one of these once. Its isnt a big deal at all but it really isnt fun. My mom was freaking out when she first saw it. It didnt look to good at first but after a few days it cleared up. I have gone in many hot tubs since and have had no problems.

I was in a hot tub last night and this morning I woke up with a rash all over my back and my legs. I am wondering if it is a hot tub rash. Im going to wait a day or so to see if it starts to clear up. I’m glad to know that this is something to watch for, never had this happen before.

One of my buddies had a really bad rash because of a hot tub at a hotel. He didnt know what it was. He ended up going to the ER and he was told it was just a common rash. They told him it would go away on its own and sure enough it did. No big deal.

Wow I did not know there was such thing as a hot tub rash. I live in a pretty upscale apartment complex and I go to the hot tub 2 to 3 times a week. Im glad the rash is not a serious rash and will go away on its own. Our apartment must take good care of the hot tub since I’ve never heard anyone complain about this.
