Ever since my brother was a little boy, he always wanted to get into the business of selling real estate. He specifically wants to buy houses, fix them and up and sell them. However, he’s getting ready to go to college now and he’s afraid that this isn’t really a smart career move.

The changes in the housing market here have definitely changed the way that people look at careers in real estate. But I’ve been telling my brother that I think he should follow his dream even though the market is bad. I just think that he might have to tweak his dream a little bit.

For one thing, he may need to move to a new location to do real estate sales. Our area is a depressed economy and the housing market is likely to stay bad for awhile. However, there are other places where things aren’t so bleak. Carlsbad CA Real Estate is a great example of one area he could find work in.

I also think he may need to plan on a different style of real estate than he originally thought. It’s not a good time for quick turnarounds of real estate so fixer-uppers aren’t a way to go. However, he could get into selling Carlsbad CA commercial real estate or renting out townhomes of Carlsbad and he’d be okay. And eventually, the market will shift again and he can do what he really wants to do so I think he should pursue the career in spite of what’s gone on in the market recently.
