One of the popular golf careers for people to pursue is teaching golf.  Part of this is because good golf instructors can go into business for themselves, and running one’s own business is a dream for many people.  If you want to be self employed and you also really enjoy golf, then a business that allows you to teach golf for a living and be your own boss would probably be a double dream come true for you!

In order to become a successful, self-employed golf instructor, you will need to have impressive credentials to show potential clients.  No one will take golf lessons from you if they think you don’t know what you’re doing!  One possibility is to teach golf classes for a long time at a golf resort, and only go into business for yourself when you have built up your resume nicely.  Or you could get an education at one of your local golf schools and put that on your resume.

Probably a combination of the two — an education from a reputable golf college, and plenty of experience teaching the sport at various resorts — is the best recipe for success.  With the right background, and with plenty of hard work and ambition, you can make a name for yourself in your area as a great golf instructor!
